“The Catholic wisdom of the people... provides reasons for joy and humor even in the midst of a very hard life.”
-Saint John Paul II
Faithful Catholics dedicated to sharing their faith are the core shepherds of our Children’s Catechism program. It is the love of the Good News of Jesus Christ that is the source that drives our dedicated volunteers each Sunday morning from September through to May. Our Catechism classes are held in our family centers at St. Vincent de Paul or at St. Francis of Assisi.
At St. Vincent de Paul, young children, who have not made their first communion, are taught the Children’s Liturgy of the Word in our family center during Sunday Holy Mass from September to May. The children rejoin their families in Holy Mass following the Homily.
The Parish of St. John Paul II Catechism program covers the children age groups of K to 8. Children aged 7 and older (Grade 2) participate in preparation for 1st Communion and 1st Confession. Teens at the grade 9 level follow a varied and approved learning program for their Confirmation. Parents can contact our Catechism program advisor for assistance with their children’s needs.
Learning the faith is the greatest gift any parents can give their children.
