The Parish Finance Council:
The Church calls for the establishment of a Finance council (PFC) to assist pastors with the prudent administration of temporal goods of the Church at the parish level. The PFC must work cooperatively with the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) which, while recommended by universal law (Canon 636), has been mandated by the particular law of the diocese (Dec 1985). The FPC is a consultative body which makes recommendations to the pastor and the PPC.
The purpose is to assist the pastor in the administration of parish goods in accordance of diocesan regulations and principles governing sound administration.
The objective is to attend to the temporal affairs of the parish; revenues, expenses, loans, investments, contracts, sales, purchases, employee relations, salaries, insurance, bookkeeping, computerization, the proper monitoring and handling of all collections, etc. in accordance with diocesan regulations and policies.
