The Old Testament is like a radio with its hidden voice announcing the One to come. The New Testament is like a television because the Word became both audible and visible.
-Archbishop Fulton Sheen
The Catholic Church reads the entire Holy Bible to her parishioners over a span of a three-year-cycle of scripture readings. Catholics use the Holy Bible as a prayer book, and not as a “rule” book. Every Sunday, Catholics hear one reading from the Old Testament, say or sing a Psalm, hear a reading from the Epistles, and then hear a Gospel reading. During Daily Mass, Catholics hear an Old Testament reading, sing or recite a Psalm, and hear a Gospel reading. The entire Holy Mass is focused on Jesus Christ in the Gospels.
Throughout the year, our parish offers lecture and workshops focused on the Holy Bible. Please check our “Events” calendar on the Home page of this website for current and future Holy Bible studies.
