Being a Sacristan is an immensely important and spiritually rewarding role. It is also one that is not well understood. Caeremoniale Episcoporum describes the role as: “The holy preparations in which Sacristans are entrusted are the basic framework for the beautiful and sacred objects that are used and carried out before, during and after the Mass. It’s a serious job that one must undertake with care and wisdom.” There will be a meeting for all interested in becoming Sacristans and those who already serve in this wonderful ministry on Thursday, December 19th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the ministry, identify volunteers and identify training needs.
